If you are unable to bring up System Request (Shift + ESC) screen on your 5250 Emulator.
You can check if there is correct key combinations defined on your Emulator
( Edit / Preferences / Keyboard / Category : Host functions )
Another possibility is that another application has same key combination defined.
In this case you can change key combination on this application
